《 Oversight of not seeing the big picture costs us big time

  • Obstacle I

Though The ways we look at our body are so diversified yet most of us tend to think of our brain as center of spiritual activities and we have gone a long way to decode the neurological patterns of emotions within. Most of us think of physical body is relatively materialistic existence composed of mechanical parts of tissues and organs. For example years of anatomy has shown us the muscles are merely the source of physical force of mechanical contraction and extension. Not only we non-experts has little attention to the messages hidden in the form of the tissues. The focus of modern physical therapy and body training is the mechanical aspect of how set of muscles working together, mainly in the reciprocal inhibition relationship and tension integrity ( even the combo of tension + integrity word  "tensegrity" structure becomes a very popular term in modern revised anatomy which include the important role of fascia effects to the mechanical structure of muscles and bones). What's still missing hidden under the touchable, visible human tissues ? What's the physiological phenomena not present in dead body anatomy but so important we cannot afford to miss in living one?

Another missing piece to our approach to solving health issues comes from the attention to the physiological events on the surface, like the tip of the iceberg is visible but the majority of core operation is invisible hidden under the water.

The obvious solutions to the issues like insomnia, muscle ache, joint pains and overweight are so conveniently available to meet the daily demand for quick relief of the symptoms. Gradually we develop the habits of reacting to these obvious events by direct elimination without thinking twice. The analytical view we acquire from modern education also tend to lead us to dissect our body into parts to find the problems. This maybe okay as long as we don't forget to put the parts back together as a whole in the end.

Some people say this is counter-intuitive and find it difficult to grasp. According to our daily experience with toys, cars and cellphones, most of the time It works just fix the part or replace the broken part with new part. How can a quick direct solution to the bodily events not work?

Only look into the core of the iceberg hidden under the water, this makes sense. Homeostatic mechanisms of auto-regulation for living organism such as human beings are developed over the course of evolution to continuously monitor and adjusts to conditions in the body as a whole system and its environment.
